- Ashland. Aug. 6. Local garages- and
Ashland ; citizens ia general are much
concerned over the signs that have been
seen lately pasted on the windshields of
south-bound tourists cars. The signs
are. The Cruelest Words in Oregon:
'Out of Gas. " The " service stations
and local garages -make no restrictions
on gasoline to tourists and the drain
has beeM 4 unusually 1 heavy, because
most all 5 tourists stop and camp in the
park and get gasoline i supply. "The
Standard Oil substation has - materially
helped the ' situation, as before its es
tablishment gasoline was brought by
truck from Medford. -The drain on the
local garages is heavy and they " state
they - never know from ; one day to the
next what the supply will be. but bo
far the supply has not fallen below the
