several months, appeared in the federal
court Tuesday and announced that he
wouTd enter his plea to the grand Jury
indictment, returned against, him, on
next Tuesday morning. According to
Assistant United States Attorney John
Veatch, Rossi purchased registered War
Savings Stamps, said to have been stolen
from the Scio bank, and assisted in
erasing the registration: numbers from

Federal Charge Faced Frank Hantak
and John Tatunv alias John Still man,
were turned over to federal authorities
Tuesday. by Municipal Judge Rossman on
a complaint of violating the prohibition
law. Patrolmen Claeys and McCormick
made a raid on the place operated by
the men on Linnton road and found a
still and' 20 gallons of mash. They
arrested the two men and brought two
Quarts of mash to the station as evidence.
Disorderly Condnet Charged Elmer J.
Pangburn, 42, laborer, was arrested
Tuesday afternoon by Motorcycle Patrol
men Anderson, Wiles and Smythe at
Front and Hooker; streets, and Is being
held on a charge of disorderly conduct.
Residents of the neighborhood -claim
tbat Pangburn has been annoying young
girls and boys In that vicinity for about
a week. He is said to have offered some
of them money to accompany him. .

Chamber of Commerce that constituent
commercial organizations of .the nation
desire the establishment of a government
department of public works, but favor
its organization through modification of
the existing department of the Interior
rather than through establishment of a
