The sale was closed by Adel, Spergrer
& Conrad, acting a ageats In selling:
.Uie interests of Winiam . "Kroll, .In
what Is known as the Sparrow -&
Kroll timber tract. "
The sale transfers G00.0Od,D6o feet of
limber. t& per cent of which ; Is spruce.
It Is located on Lake Takenitch . near
Kroll station, north of Reedsport. The
buyer is the Lake Timber company of
iVhich W. F. McGregor and Frank Pat
i ton. Astoria bankers, R. K. Booth,. Asto
ria retail lumber dealer, and James Man
ary, Columbia, river looser, are chief
ownwt McGregor and .Booth are also
Interested in the Takenitch Timber com
pany which owns an adjoining'' tract of
timber now being logged.
The new company wilt at once operate
the tract purchavfed and a mill will later
, be built at Kroll station to handle the
lojrs from the twJ timber - companies.
Adel, Sperger A Conrad are closing ne
gotiations for the purchase of all? of the
Gardiner Mill company holdings which
were not previously sold, and will divide
the timber holdings tn units which will
be sold to operators, who will build mills
on tie lower Umpqua riven ' The deal
will also include the Gardiner Mill com
pany plant at Gardiner, which will be
