The Japanese-British bag combine is
dying fast. ; Already ' It has become
panic, stricken, and latest advices are
to the effect that thosa grain growers
who do not need bag until August will
get them much cheaper.
.Hongkong interests are 'cabling frsntieallr to
local interests . to get them to purchase, bags.
No. 1 Calcutta are being freely offered there,
according to these reports, at 10911c each, with
S freight charge of about le and s small duty.
1 The agitation to sell bags' is so keen that
bids and offers all through the Pacific North
west are being gradually reduced in value. Not
1 Calcuttae are being offered in the North
west for July delivery down to 18 each to
day and the market is intensely weak at that. .
Extremely , heavy shipments of bags -are - ex
pected from the Orient during the early part
of August beeauase of the panicy condition 1 of
the trade there, due to some extent to the tact
that the bankers have called for their loans.
Grain markets are quiet with a nominal vol
ume of trade reported to eld crop wheat.
