A COURSE of unusual character en
titled -Mental and Kducattonal Tests
and Measurements" will be conducted at
the Central library thla summer for the
University of Oregon summer session,
under the direction of Dr. 8. C. Kohn,
psychologist to the court of domestic
relations. One of the unique , features
will he the organization of a class of
60 children .whose mental and ''pedagogi
cal abilities will be measured and' chart
ed. Dr. Kohs states : "The time Is com
ing when our attempt at educatiop will
be preceded in all cases by a preliminary
survey of the mental 1 and 'educational
possibilities of each child. If our de
mocracy stands for anything It stands
for the fuHest opportunity for. Individual
self development.- And 'before that end
can be accomplished we must first deter
mine the special abilities and the special
disabilities, both mental and physical, of
every boy and girl who kpocks on the
dor of our educational system. The day

the remaining financial responsibility of
the new work. .
