At Festival Ball

will be given at Cotillion hall and guests

noon, given In honor of the directors
and nurses of the Visiting Nurse asso
ciation. The affair is an. annual event

of arrangements for the afternoon.

Wednesday afternoon, honoring two
brides-elect whose weddings will take
place this month. The -guests, of honor

Mrs. Lawrence R. Wheeler asked a
few friends in for the tea hours Friday
afternoon in honor of her sister,: Mrs.
Paule K. Woll of Philadelphia, who is
a Visitor In the city for a few weeks.
Mrs. Woll and her- daughter -Susanne,

and are at the home of her father. Dr.

Honor Is Given

week at St. Helens hall was a tea
dansant at the . PorUand Helxhts club
Thursday afternoon, for which five of
the senior girls were hostesses, Guests
tor the occasion . included the jjirls of
the- senior class "and their friends, and
the hostesses included the Misses Hazel
Falrservlce. Thelma Aaland. I'hilena
Bartlett, Alice Prlndle , and Elizabeth
Kelly.
Patronesses for the afternoon were
Mrs. Jay Smith, Mrs. Prlndle from
Spirit Lake, Mrs. Brock Statter and
Mrs. Fielding Kelly. The hours were
from 4 to 6 o'clock and the afternoon
was one of unusual interest,

The marriage of Miss Margaret Hay
and Leo E. Chaffin was solemnized
June 2 at St. Philip Nerl'a church. The
service- was read by the Rev. Father
Ferry at 10:30 o'clock In the morning
in the presence of a number of friends
and relatives. The bride wore a gown
of white satin adorned with pearl
Heads and worn with tulle veil. Her
flowers were white carnations and bride

honor and wore a frock of rose colored
georgette crepe with a tulle hat to
