Joe Farrell and Jim Hop fer, auto drivers for the Columbia Dig ger company, saw the flamea. One no tified the fire departments while the. other aroused Detje and assisted in quenching the flames with a garden hose. When the fire was extinguished a quart beer bottle partly filled with kerosene was found near- the garage doors. Firemen expressed surprise that . the gas tank on the rear of the automobile did not explode, as it was not more than one foot from the fire. Both doors were burned off.
