' Mrs. Robert H. McGinnls (Edna Slater), whose marriafce to the Rev. Mr. McGinnls, rector of the Church of the Holy Communion of Tacoma, was a re cent event in Tortland, was honored at a tea Saturday, for which heit mother, Mrs. L. J. I Slater, was hostess. More than 100 guests called during the aft ernoon. At the tea hour those who poured and iserved included Mrs. Charles Cottell, Mrs. Emma Weller, Mrs- Mary Ettle, Mrs.! Samuel White, Mrs. J. C. Grady, Mrsl W. P. Slater and Miss Ella Brown. . t II I '.- Dr. Gustave E. Bruere was called east Tuesday by the sudden illness of his daughter Ruth, who Is attending school at Wlkharri Rise, Conn. Miss Bruere underwent a serious operation and Dr. Bruere will wait until she is well enough fo travel and will bring her back to Portland. At the same time Mrs. Bruere was; called to Spokane to the bedside of her daughter, Mrs. William Boys Banks, who. however, had sufficiently recovered from a slight illness to return with Mrs. Bruere Saturday to Portland. . i - ... Elizabeth, of Spokane and their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Racey Kilmer, also of that city ; also Edward Thompson, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, who is at tending school at the University of Ore gon at Kugene. Mrs. Braveau is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Baumeister and a sister of Mrs. Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Baumeister came from New York to Walla Walla 50 years ago and have made their home in Washington since that time On Sunday they were the recipients of many beautiful floral remembrances as well as many tele graph messages sent by their friends.
