Turkey Supply Is
About Normal
I. W. Beckley or Roseburg Says IOah
Prices Are Wanted.
By 11 y reei H. Cohea
That practically, normal supplies: of
turkeys are being held in the Willam
ette valley ta the statement made during
the day by J, WV Beckley of Roseburg.
Mr. Beckley Is a brother of C. Hay Beck-
ley of the Skeridan-BecKIey company of
this city. ; , ;; i
: "There axe fully as tnany, if hot more
turkeys in the Jloaeborg tcctlon at this
time." says Mr. Beckley, "aa in other
seasons. The quality is about the nor
mal. . Some of the growers are feeding
hand others are not because of the hitfh
price of grain. Corn is used much in
turkey feeding around Roseburg. j
"While I have not beard of any busi
ness in turkeys as yet. the growers of
my district believe they are going: to
get bis prices this season."
Some few purchases of turkeys have
been reported made on contract In the
Pacific Northwest this season, but this
business is far below the normal for this
period of the year. Growers' price ideas
are so nmch higher than those enter
talned by buyers that little business has
been possible, .

DENOMINATION $1000
This issue of 5H5 Road Bonds of Clarke County, Washington, Is for the
purpose of hard-surfacing, some of the county's main highways, but chiefly a
stretch of 20 miles between Vancouver and Battleground. The bonds ar a -direct
tax general obligation of the ' entire county, all of its taxable property,
and resources being pledged to pay principal and interest as they become due.
The Financial Statement of Clarke county shows that the net debt of the county
is but 39 of the assessed value of it$ taxable property.
Without doubt this is one of the most attractive issues of bonds ever offered
clients and investors and we recommend them most highly as ' very safe and
profitable investment securities. "-. - - .-
