and initial qootatkma ia th eottoa aaarket today
Were 26 to 49 points lower. The tone was weak.
Liverpool sold, and there, was a grwd deal of
liquidation by Western loags.
Rallies met Increased offerings however, aad
the tone later waa heavy, prices holding around

- -Ileary general selling kept the market in an
unsettled and feverish -state all afternoon, with
rallies poorly maintained.

the physicians themselves must go sev

Protesting against the regulations now

many glaring Instances of discrimina

worse than in any other Coast city.

JL J. Jones of the Jones: Market! is
another remonstrant 'against existing
regulations. He points out that he has
a 50 foot frontage on Fourth street
and 100 on Alder. The 50 foot epaoes.
on the non-restricted street is taken
up by a fire hydrant and; basement
elevator. Parking regulations will hot
permit cars to stop on Aider.
"Currtomers, therefore, ara compelled
to carry heavy packages from one to

Jones states, "and rather than do that
they go to establishments where they
can nark long enough to surchase. I
am losing customers "by the unjust
regulations."
TIRED OF POLICE STATION
"I cant stoo my car on Alder st
long enough to run upstairs to my of
fice." asserts Dr. Alan Welch SmEth,
-without appearing , at the police sta
tion. It Is discrimination against those
on Alder and Washington streets. I
have to park several blocks from the
office when I may remain only for a
minute, and suffering persons are com
pelled to do the same. It is an Im
possible ait nation which must be rem
edied in some way. '
"Something will have to be dorke,"
Dr. E. A. Sommer complained.
"We cannot keep our offices where
patients must park five or! six blocks
away. The present ordinance are . an
i neon venhf new both to doctors and pa,
tienta and a move to residential dla-
trictsvtoay be necessary. . I predict that
mere win re a general removal unless
existing conditions . are remedied. j . :
