PURPLE SOX BATTERED BY
SALT LAKE'S SWATTERS
. Salt. Lake, May, 14. Hammering .the
offerings of Seattle's pitchers to all
corners of the lot, the Salt Lake Bees
had no trouble in trouncing the North
erners yesterday . and when the smoke
of battle had lifted from the field Salt
Lake was out on the long end of a
.13 to 2 score. ... .
Errors by Seattle helped to make the
score much larger than it would have
been had the players backed up ' the
pitchers in faultless style. ,
When Salt Lake was piling up a total
of 13 hits, Seattle got but nine.
Lake played errorless ball and
Sheely hit the ball out of the lot.
