The back-to-the-farm movement has
seised hold of Dr. C. W. Cornelius, who
has merged all his other interests in life
to that bigger one represented : in his
150 acre farm on the . Troutdale road.
Dr. Cornelius, who gave up bis medical
profession nearly- six years ago, and
later sold, bis hotel, let raising: 30 acres
of wheat, 30 acres of corn, a herd of
thoroughbred - Holstsin cows, a herd ; pf
pure blooded Duroo pigs and a flock of
Barred Rock chickens. : Besides; he has
10 or 12 acres in park. For Dr. Cor
nelius is making bis place more than a
mere farm it is a summer home. The
park la all to the rear of the house,
down on Beaver creek, j and here Dr.
Cornelius has a cabin where he .lives,
while' his house, which stands near the
road, like the old-fashioned parlor, tis
reserved for company. His winters Dr.
Cornelius expects to spend in California.

terbotham, who enlisted In the Canadian
army in 1916, have returned to their
homes here. Winter bo tham has -been in
France since 1917. Winterbotham went
over the top In many of the big battles
in which , the Canadians participated.

France, are Interested in a benefit dance
to be held at the Armory on April 24.
The proceeds will go toward' paying for
the celebration of the twentieth anniver
sary of Company C, which will be held
May 24. It is expected that by that time
nearly all the members will have been
