Dramatic Order Knights of Khoraa- san of Portland, will hold Its annual ceremonial at Seaside Saturday. April 6. The city by the sea has officially de clared a half holiday on that occasion, and has donated the Dreamland rink for the ball that evening. A street parade will be a feature of the celebra tion. A special train, arranged for by W. J. II. Clark, Henxy Hunter and Ed M. Lance wfll leave the North Bank depot at 1:80 Saturday and will return Sunday night. A program has been ar ranged that will be sure to attract vis itors from far and near. The D. O. K. K. is the social order of the Knights of Pythias, and every of ficer of the grand lodge, K. of P.. is ex pected to attend from Leslie E. Crouch, grand chancellor, to Edward D. Curtis, dean of the past grand chancellors and supreme representative. . Delegations will participate In the fes tivities from Portland, St Helens, Rainier, Clatskanie, Hammond, Astoria, Vancouver. Kalama, Rtdgefleld, Castle rock, McMinnvllle. Dallas, Oregon City and other castles, temples and centers of Pythlanism. The Portland "brigands" who will conduct the large class of tyros across the burning sands of the Seaside temple will be commanded by W. Frank Paine and Royal Visler. Knights Templar, was organized In 1911 with Penumbra Kelly at its head. and since Its organization the com mandery has come to the front by leaps and bounds until today it is one of the best known Masonic organisa tions In the west. For an organisation or society during Its seven years of existence to have an official In the supreme lodge, known as the Grand Encampment of the- United' States, and thla official to be the only western man so placed. Is extremely gratifying to Oregon Masons and especially the Templars. This official Is Dr. William Wallace Toungson, grand prelate of the grand encampment and an officer In Washington Commandery No. 15. In the state organization this com mandery has two members, past com manders who occupy positions on the staff, namely Weston S. Shellenbarger, grand captain general and who is at the present time grand master of the Masonic lodge in the state, and Ralph D. Robinson, grand prelate, who was last year the head of the commandery meeting on the east side of the river Under the leadership of Mr. Robin son, the commandery last year en joyed remarkable growth, adding over fifty names to the roll, and this rec ord has not been excelled by any commandery on the coast. Order Eastern to their homes in Jerusalem ; the Order of Malta, a degree founded upon the history connected with the crusades, and the Knights Templar, which is a" continuation of the Malta, and by Masons considered one of the most Impressive and elaborate pieces of rit ualism. In all of these degrees Wash ington Commandery has added to the work by securing pictures Illustrative of the different events and by an out lay of something over 1500. It claims to have the best group of any organ ization in the country. In order to aid oilier commanderles in their work, these pictures and the lectures that accompany them have been offered to the other organizations in the state and at the coming organ lzatlon of the Grand Commandery of Nevada, these pictures will be shown 'for the benefit of the Grand Encamp ment of the United States. Easter time Is an event looked for ward to by Templars the world over, and , It is one of the few occasions wherein Templars are permitted to parade.
