ANDREWS IS SUING BANK NOW Charge -Made Ladd A Til ton Knew Company Was Insolvent Exra G. Andrews has besrun suit in th circuit court against George Hardy, the Ladd A Tllton bank, th Skandla Pacific Oil Engln company, th Heath Shipbuilding company and others, - to recover $8000 which he alleges was obtained from him through false repre sentations. He alleges that he put $5000 into a shipbuilding -concern headed by Hardy, with the understanding that his money was fully secured. He later discovered, he alleges, that the concern was insol vent and that Ladd & Tllton knew that Hardy and his company were insolvent when It recommended it to him. Andrews haa been party to a consider able amount of litigation in the last three months. Recently he waa victor in a suit against Frank Gobble, a former partner, to obtain restitution of $5008 stock of th Southern Pacific company. He was acquitted last week in Circuit Judge Gantenbeln's court on a statutory charge, preferred by his wife. E. malinger, proprietor of the Mt. Hood hot at. was arrested Wednesday by Deputy Sheriff Chrlatofferson. -and charged with having liquor illegally in his possession. George Groves, an expressman, was caught by Christofferson delivering two large boxes and a trunk to the hotel. He admitted after questioning that h had got the bill of lading from Klltnger. More liquor and a large number of empty bottles were found in th hotel storeroom. At th same time th deputy seised two large phonograph cases billed to Mrs. George Brady, and several boxes of household goods billed to Mrs. T. H. Woods. Th boxes were found all to contain liquor. They war shipped from Redwood City.. Cal., and bore evi dence of having been shipped by the same person. The contraband liquor came up from San Francisco on the steamer F. A.
