Oregon held a conference at the court
house Tuesday to consider a tentative
draft of rules and regulations fpr tho
formation and operation of corpora
tions organised to build dams and
booms.
The meeting was attended by a large
number of well known logging and tim

surance committee of the Emergency
Fleet corporation.
Commissioner Wells and Mr. KaBoy
toaux are engaged in a controversy
over the rlacing of insurance on ves
sels tinder contruction in Oregon. The
Insurance committer of the Fleet cor
poration was endeavoring to place the
insurance directly with the Insurance
comranles at a low rate which would
eliminate agents' commissions. Com
missioner Wells has been Insisting that
the insurance be placed through local
Insurance agents, so they would not
be deprived of their commissions.

is that he might have met with some
accident or been .ccidentally drowned
in Red Blanket river. This river emp
ties Into the Rogue river, and searchers
have been keeping a close watch for
the appearance of the body In one of
these rivers.
