Gresham Or.. April 8.- Several bun-!
dred dollars worth of ahrubbary has
been donated, by M. O. Nelson of the
Minneapolis Journal-and owner of the
Hope, Gardens, a large orchard near
Troutdale, for the beautlfloatlon of the
county library grounds here. Mr. Nel
son has agreed to deliver the plants if
the expense of planting will be paid.
He also had a Minneapolis landscape
gardener draw up plans for the work.
The matter was taken -up before tha
Multnomah' County Library associa
tion but no funds are now available.
The city council of Gresham consid
ered it at its last meeting but feared
it had no power to act. It is planned
to raise the necessary funds by popu

Drowning Victim
Is Buried Today
Vancouver, Wash., April $. The
funeral of Mrs. George Talbot, who
was drowned in Rock creek Tuesday,
following the collapse of a bridge
over which she and her husband ware
driving en route to their home from
Battle Ground, was held today In
Yacolt. Services' were conducted by
Rev. Tiffany and Interment was In
the Tacolt cemetery.
Coroner Knapp has received a report
from TJr. A. W. Stevenson or Tacolt,
who represented him at an Inquest
held yesterday, in which It Is stated
that her death resulted from drowning-.
The body was recovered about two
miles below the scene of the accident.
Mrs, Talbot was about 45 years old
and a native of . Minnesota, coming
to Clarke county about 22 years ago.
Soe is survived by her husband, who
escaped serious injury in the accident,
and the following children: Mrs. Lee
Goodwin of Vancouver,. Clyde Talbot
of Cedar M11L Or., and Arthur Talbot,
Verna Talbot, Elmer Talbot and Floyd
Talbot, all at home. '
