Rev. R. H, Sawyer, pastor of the East
Side Christian church. Miss Marie
Rossi ter and J. W. Moore the latter a

intimate friends. Mrs. Moore lived
formerly in Washington. D. C., and is
the widow of the celebrated 'oomposor
of music. She la director of the music
at the Bast Side Christian church, and
prior to that -directed the choir at the

ly decorated with the Hawaiian colors,
which, with tbe ladle, in white dresses
and the genUemen In shirt waists and
white trousers, with red sashes, pre
sented a most attractive scene. The
music was Hawaiian in It. melodies
and two native Islanders enlivened the
evening with occasional native songs.

Prominent physicians snd surgeons
of the city to the number of 200 gave
a dinner Thursday evening at Hotel
Portland. In compliment to Dr. Splro
Sargent ich, who recently returned from
a two years' service In Serbia, his na
tive land. Dr. Sargentieh devoted his
attention to typhus fever; and only re
turned to this country because of a
physical and nervous breakdown, due
toeverwork.
Mr. and Mrs. 'jack Peters very
charmingly entertained the Four Plus
