"WORK OUT YOUR
A
From Dr. Joshua Ftamflcld'i final wrnran to Meridian Metbodlst Episcopal ebnrcfe
lurtianapoiiB, Ind.
Work is not a curse, but a fundamental law of life. The Old Testa
ment early tradition that work is a curse and a penalty as a result of
the Fall is neither wholly scriptural nor according to the known facts
of life. The world is primarily and constitutionally a working world.
"From insect to archangel creation hums with work." Jesus said, "My
Father worketh hitherto and 1 work." Next to the redeeming power of
divine and human love, there is no one thing which makes for a safe
and hiqh character as does work. The saving power of work is one of
the greatest blessings of life. In personal salvation, too, there must be
work. "Work oi your own salvation." "It is God that worketh in
you." Every new impulse, and inspiration, and ideal must be wrought
out. "Faith without work is dead."
