Hood River over the last week end.
They Included: Mr. Thomas Carrlca
Rurke. Mr. s.rd Mra. Donald Spencer.
Mrs. John F. Logan, Mra. Warren E.
Thomas, Tom Dobson and Miss Con
stance Piper. At Hood River they were
honored at an elaborate dinner party
and musical, at which Mrs. Clarence
Coffin was hostess. Another smart
event was a lawn party and musical at
the attractive home of -Mrs. C. N. Kav
lin. A motor outing to Rogers' Inn was
taken on Monday. In addition to artis
tic numbers given by the visitors, sev
eral talented resident of Hood River
contributed to the programs of the two
social g-atherinss. Mrs. Ralph Root de-
ifc'hted with solos; Otto Wedermeytr
sane; Anthony ICwer read some of his
clevm verses and Mrs. Coffin played
piano numbers.
Mrs. J. Sherman (CCorman is visit
ing Dr. and Mrs. ;. T. Trommal'l at

were Mrs. Henry A. Harr, Mrs. Stan
ley, (Jriffith WerschUull, Mrs. Mar
shall Nn-bit, Miss Blanche Cohen of
Seattle, Miss Harriet L,eas, Miss Lil
lian Roberson and Miss Fay Butchart
of Seattle. About tia matrons and
maids called during the afternoon.
The Misses May and Rachel Clark
were charming hostesses at bridge
Thursday afternoon entertaining in
compliment to Miss Sam Montgomery
of Port Worth, Texas, who is visiting
her sister, Mrs. Horace Luckett, and
Mrs: Riley of Omaha, Neb., who is vis
iting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wil
liam Ryan. There were four tables at
cards arranged amidst a bower of pret
ty garden flowers. A most effective
color scheme of pink was carried out
with hydrangeas and rose."?, and bows
of pink tulle. Mrs. John Clark as
sisted her daughters in receiving.
Highest honors at bridge fell to
Mis Kathenne Ridgely and Uiq con
solation prize went to Miss Ruth Riley.
The two honor guests received pretty
baskets of flowers in the sweet peas.

A party of Portland people are en
joying their summer's outing at Kos
key's place on the Washougal river.
