The Press bureau announces the ap pointment of the Right Hon. Samuel Montagu to be minister of munitions, succeeding David Lloyd-George, re cently appointed secretary for war. Thomas McKlnnon Wood, secretary for Scotland at present, is named to succeed Mr. Montagu as financial secretary of the treasury and is also named chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. The Hon. Harold J. Tennant, par liamentary under secretary for war under the late Earl Kitchener, is ap pointed secretary for Scotland. The selection of Lord Derby to take the place of Mr. Tennant In the war of fice already had been announced. Premier Asqulth, it is officially an nounced, has invited Lord Cur ton of Hedleston to become a permanent member of the war committee.
