MOOSE " TAUSSIG -OFFEES TRIO OF MEN TO GIBSON Gruman's Trainer Thinks He Has Improved Wonder- .fully in Year. Struck with the South American fever. Moose Taussig, manager of a string of boxers, wrote Billy Gibson some time ago offering his three prom ising youngsters, "Willie Meehan, heavyweight; Frankie Jones, welter weight, and Eddie Miller, feather weight, for the projected South Ameri can Invasion. In a letter received from Gibson yes terday he informs Taussig he is not entirely settled as to the trip and will be glad to consider taking the three Taussig terrors to Buenos Aires if any thing shows up that warrants taking a score or more of American boxers to the Argentine. Gibon Bays that, although "Welsh was offerecT $25,000, win, lose or draw, with Benny Leonard, the rising young New York lightweight, the champion refused to consider it, preferring to take on Charlie White rather than the youngster. Taussig says that Leonard is a white counterpart of Joe Gans and he be lieves that he is the greatest light weight In the world. He figures that Welsh is using very good Judgment in refusing to take the offer, for he feels certain that Leonard will relieve the Britisher of his crown once they get In the ring over the 20 round route. Speaking of lightweights, Taussig says that he has never seen a light weight Improve like Ralph Gruman, the Portland product, and he believes that Ralph will be one of the comers In the ring game when he gets his sec ond start, following his facial injury with Frankie Callahan at Salt Lake. rtflee fly Archer.
