This was promptly rejected by Scott After a two hours conference, the Mex icans accepted Scott's Invitation to lunch in his private cSW. The parting Was friendly. v Americans feel confident that an agreement may possibly be reached this afternoon. Obregon and Scott are not underestimating the danger of an explosion which diplomatie negotlationa could not repair. They are disposing of their military forces so as to avoid a clash between Carranzistas and h soldiers of the American expedition. U. S. Takes No Chances. Washington, May 10. (U. P.) While officials assume that Car ranxa is acting -in good faith they ad mit that his attitude is surprising in view of his making a demand for a time limit on the presence of Amari can soldiers in Mexico after President Wilson had informally approved the agreemept which Generals Scott and Obregon reached several days ago. Of ficials say that the situation ha been tnade mora grave by Carranaa'g tac ttca The administration supposed the agreement to be practically in effect but Carranxa, has not yet approved it so far as haa been officially reported.
