entrances on the grade, one of wjilch
will open to the-first floor and the
farther one to the second floor of the
rear ; of the structure. It will be
' planned' to give a maximum of window
space and day lighting.
Waterhouse & Fouilhoux will be the
architects.

. topographical maps, being .the entire
list of-maps of this type that have
- been Issued by the United States gov
eminent in the states of Oregon, Wash
ington, Idaho and California. They
will-be hound and placed in the new
quarters In the Henry building that
have been rented by the Portland
. realty board for their own special pur
poses.
Twelve new chairs end a directors'
table ' have been ordered The chairs
have been received and the table will
be- installed In a few days.
, The sew roster of members of the
board will be Issued by Secretary Cow
gill Tuesday. It will contain 450 names
- as. compared with 260 in the roster
issued three rears ago.
Since the realty board moved in the
Henry building four additional real es
tate firms have rented quarters there.
RESIDENCE PERMIT IS TAKEN

Work on the superstructure of the
residence for WL P. Dickey at the
southwest corner of Twenty-eighth
and 'Thompson streets, was beun to
day, the permit having been taken out
by F. E. Bowman company, builders,

Cut Leg With Glds
Jar; May Be Fatal
.Charles Husk, who cut his right leg
Saturday morning when he was open
ing a fruit jar at his home, S28 East
Thirty-fourth street, was considered
likely to die last night at Good Sa
maritan hospital, but showed much im
provexnent this morning.)
Rusk, who Is 47 years old and mar
ried. was asked by Mrs. Rusk to open
a screw-top Jar which defied her ef
forts. Holding it below his knees, he
wrenched upon the lid, and hia efforts
were so strong that the Jar broke in
his hands. '
Slipping sideways out of his. grasp,
part of the broken glass 'Jar' struck
bis right leg below the knee and pene
trated almost through the -calf, caus
ing a wound which bled considerably
