and that Oregon fruit, which Is the best in
the world, no longer has boms re presentation.

tricts are as l tributary to Portlanv as to
Spokane or Seattle, but hardly a ' box of
fruit from these districts Is now shipped
through a Portland office. '

have begun their existence here, but since have

shippers complain, that it was difficult to get

Fruit Growers' exchange, and the California
Fruit Distributors are marketing over half of
the fruit crop of California. They have their
owa agents in the great suction markets' snd
d J not depend upon the established Jobbing:
nouses for distribution ta these places. In
the country snd small e?ty markats the Call
fornlans dlstrlbuts their fruit through the pri
vate sale method, aslng the. stores of the
Jobbers. They are able to. sell thglr fruit
for cash in tbe private ssle markets, because
they slwsys have the great . clearing house
markets farther east to unload upon in case
the Jobbers will not psy the price demanded.
