Mrs. Emily Bowling. The funeral
of the late Mrs. Emily A. Dowllng was
held from - the i family residence, 100
East Twerityfourth street. North, yes
terday afternoon.- Mrs,1 Dowllng was
born, In; Portland 60 years , ago, and
was one of the early ; workers in the
Trinity ; Episcopal church. For 50
years she lived at Ninth and Burnside.,
Her father, Edward Dalton was well
known In Portland, but died in 1857.
Her husband, the late James Dowllng,
was a member of the volunteer fire
department of early days. Five chil
dren survive her, Orme, Florence, James
and Edward S. , Dowling. and Mrs.
Charles F. Foster, Rev. O. W. Taylor
of the Grace Memorial Episcopal
church, delivered -the funeral sermon.
Interment was made la ' Lone - Fir
cemetery. -
