LOIR IN MARKETS
ONION .MARKET
IS GETTING TO
k VERY LOW POINT
With WalU Walla showing Its greatest crop
of onions this season, stocks . are being of .

price for many seasons. - - ' . . ,
Onloa prices bere today- were very weak.
While : most . of the wholesalers are asking
$1.25 a cental , because they, still bad on

than $1. others were offerlngf'ta fell at the
lower figure. -
Two cars of Walla Walla stdbk arrived en
the t market -today.- In quite good condition
and additional .supplies are -expected at a
further reduction of a nickel tomorrow. . '- .
- Present price of onions at Walla Walla 15

are almost at the - point where shipping will
become unprofitable to producers, wbicb in
turn may cause some to bold, although tbe

Speculative, Riot :
;In 'War" Stocks i
: Showing No Check
(Ciopyrlght- 1916 by the New York
.,...-' Evening Post,) j v .-.-.
New York, July 21. (U. P.) Tbe riot
of speculation In war stocks continued
unchecked on the stock exchange to
day. It ia not at all an unfamiliar
phenomenon in a market where specu
lative imagination has gone crazy' In
a limited group.
-; The obvious gambling mania was of
tbe blindest character and while large
proportions converged on this single
group, tbe . rest of, the market . wis
therefore more cautious, . There ' waa
no discussion either of the note to Ger
many or the , military situation in
Kurope.
No comment -was occasioned by the
fact that - Republic Steel was - dealt
seven times as extensively as Reading;
American Can fifteen times as exten
sively as Union Pacific and Westing

fore the war the best antimony was
quoted on the New York marker at 7

the present situation .will, be of some
