Elmer Mar ti ndni looked lfke a rank busher yester day In the last four Innings of the 9 to pi defeat at the hands of the Chicago White Sox, ana pitched the sloppiest game of the camp season. If the big leaguers , had such pitching on the dally .menu they would grow fat with base iilts. . v McCredie could see that Martinoni was lazily tossing the ball up to the Hoi, but allowed him to get a good beating for the salutary effect. His part of the defeat was five tuna and nine lilts and he will probably try a little more throwing and a little "tea Khaa-rln-r in the outfield hereafters I Judging by yesterday's work he will jnotj be in shape until June rolls around. Harry Krauze went along beautifully until the fifth inning when the Sox solved him and threelclean doubles and !a couple of singles, combined with Col idrin's error, sent four runs across. The j Class Z playing of the White Sox In the! latter states of - the game would hafe given', the Beavers "a chance if , Marty had shown any part of the skill Iof pat Callahan.. Eddie Collins nicked Krause for tbriee hits and Martinoni for one, walk ing; his fifth time up. He made up I for) his lapse f the previous day at iHahford. There were flashes of brilliancy In ithej game, once Fred Garisch '.caught' a j wild, shoot of Martinoni. balanced him self on one ear and threw the fleet !Kdjlie Collins jout stealing second.
