From 3 until 6 o'clock this after noon Mrs. Charles Tilton Kamm and her three daughters-in-law, Mrs. Jacob Gray Kamm, Mrs. Walker V. Kamm (Louise Roberts) and Mrs. Phillip S. At a joliit- session of the 'advisory board and bureau of social "equity, called to order by the president, gJr. Viola May Coe, the problem of han dling the present population now fre quenting saloons was discussed and the following resolution passed: "Realizing the need of social Centers to supply the demand of those who are lacking in home or club life, we ur gently request the committee of one hundred and other influential citizens to work out plans 'by which some of the saloons may be maintained in the same locations as at present, but with the purpose of providing a place for the social games, music, rest and the sale of hot coffee and other legitimate drinks and food. We suggest thaf If change Is effected, a special committee of citizens be appointed to investigate regularly and report on conditions." Mrs. A. C. Powell, at 297 East Thirty-seventh street, was shipped east to Sioux City, Iowa, last' night for burial. Mr. and Mrs. Powell accompanied it. Rev.
