Monahan has cleaned Up the hobo camps near Troutdale and did excellent work In apprehending two holdup men and rounding up stolen horses. There has been far less complaint about saloons since Mona han was appointed. Minnesota Society Meats. At a pre liminary meeting of the Minnesota w ciety of Portland held at the Central library last night Dr. A. M. Held Responsible for Death, The coroner's jury yesterday afternoon held- Dominec Padgln responsible for the death of Mrs; Olimpia Parlameni, He shot the woman last Saturday, then stabbed her twice in the face, aft which act Fadgm made his escape and has not been, caught. The assault was made at the suburban home of the Parlameni family one mile south of Grays Crossing. Mrs. Parlameni died Monday at the hospital. The Mazamas for their Sunday afternoon walk will traverse the Skyline boule vard along the heights from Calvary cemetery to Patton road. Leaving on a King's Heights car at 1:30, they will go to the terminus of the line at the cemetery. They will then walk south erly to Skyline boulevard and come back by Patton road, ending the hlka at South Broadway and Grant street. About five miles will be covered. Verdict for Defendant, Mat tie Pos- tle lost her damage suit against Olds, Wortman & King for $10,000 dam ages yesterday when a jury in Circuit Judge Davis' court returned a verdict for the company. She alleged that she was hurt in a fall on the stairs in the store which could have been pre vented had certain precautions been taken. Dr. Chapman lectures Tonight.
