Rowley of Lents could draw a $35 widow's pension recently allowed her, the pension was revoked yesterday by the case committee of he pension department of the Juve nile court. The pension was granted on condition that Mrs. Rowley's hus band would go to the state sanitarium for lung treatment. He refused to do so and'the pension was cut off. A pension lrf $17.50 was allowed to M.s. Lillie Ellison. 1720 East Thirteenth street. Howell yesterday took a non-suit in Circuit Judge Davis' court in his suit for $20,500 damages against the Western. Oregon Conference of the As sociation of Seventh Day Adventists, when he discovered that he had sued the wrong parties. Howell's left eye was Injured by a chip of steel from a hammer with whimh he was opening a box while employed by the cnurcn people. "When Dr. Smith, as mayor of Pen dleton, attempted to conserve ths wa ter rights of the city of Pendleton, he had a big fight on his hands. Ths fight was carried to ths United States aenate. But Smith stood his ground, and won out. "Smith's record was known and ap proved of. not only by tho citisens of Pendleton, but by that entire section of the state. He was sent to ths stats senate with the almost unanimous vote of his own county. . He carried every precinct but two. He was again ap proved of by his people, and was re elected. On the other hand, the most im portant fact to consider, is that the foisting of withycombo upon the pub lic Is a deliberate attempt of a gang of politicians, headed by the Oregon ian, to 'put one over on the public. Withycombo is a puppet candidate no more and no less. He is a figure head. He will do what he is told to do. Just as now he Is doing what hs is told to in his oampalgn speeches. "It Is a notorious fact that Withy combe is saying no less and no more than his managers ars telling him to say. "And when the Oregonian and the gang tell Withycombe to sit down on the people s laws, Withycombe is going to do it. "Do yon want a figurehead for gov ernor?
