Contemporary .history will be taught to the people of Portland who are interested, beginning tomorrow evening and continuing throughout the ran and winter every alternate Friday night at 8 o'clock at the public library. The course, which will be free of any charge whatever, will examine the history of European countries from the declaration ot war by each to the inception of the causes that Involved each country in the war. The course will be under the aus pices of the extension division of tho University of Oregon, and will be con ducted by Dr. Joseph Schafer, profes sor of history.
