New York. July IT. Advices re

the surprising statement that-Freddie

that b Mn.n. a iMt m -Lea An I matched to right in Australia some
geles, CaU where he has property In

Only the future, however, can prove Ita
value. The fact. that it coat Welsh
2500 to win the title from Ritchie
may have eomethlng to' do with his
plans to leave the rtight little isle." ,
Welsh lost money on the champion
ship battle with Ritchie because he
agreed to split even ' with Charles
Cochran, who promoted the Olympla
affair, on the money left after Ritchie
received his $25,000 $16.00 guarantee
and 210,009 -for moving picture , and
advertising privileges. The gross re
ceipts amounted to $21,000, much less
than expected. Harry Pollock. Welsh's
manager, had estimated the receipts at
about $35,000.' Cochran probably lost
about $10,000 on the ahow.
