With the resumption Tuesday of the trial of I Mrs. Drown, accused of murdering s her husband. Archer Drown, it was un- derstood today that more evidence would be, offered in support of the de I fense's plea that the prisoner was mentally irresponsible at the time of the shooting. The , witnesses on the stand late yesterday all told of her eccentricities, and, despite the prosecution's efforts on cross examination, Mrs. Drowns counsel expressed confidence at ai JourmSent that no Jury would convict a woman whom so many agreed was unbalanced. At the session's conclu sion, a three days' recess was taken. IAMDING PROCEEDS RAPIDLY Belgravia and Glenroy Cargoes to Be Completed First of Week. Cargo is fast being, placed In the holds of the two oriental liners, the German steamer Belgravla and thrs British steamer Olenroy and both ves selu will leave Portland the first of the week. Both steamers will be full when they leave here. ARGUMENT ON BRAINS RESULTS IN DIVORCE Tacoma, Wash., March 7. "Women haven't brains enough to hold office and shouldn't be allowed to vote." The above remark by her husband, George F. Strong, was the basis for crueUv charges, which today secured for Louise Strong a divorce in JuUg-o Easterly's court. "Where is there a woman with as mueh'bt'Jlins as Theodore Roosevelt?" the husband is alleged to have in quired, to which Mrs. Strong replied, that if one took time to look around, plenty of woman Just as brainy would be found. And from this, the misun derstanding grew, until Strong is al leged to have turned his wife out, and to have gone to Alaska.' STATEMENT OF CONDITION OF The Northwestern National Bank of Portland T i.
