Portland Man Weds In California.
The following notice has been re
ceived of the wedding In Oakland, Cal.,
of Daniel Francis Campbell Jr., of
this city, to Miss Miriam Irmlne
Clarken of Oakland. Mr. Camnbell is
or an okj and well Known Portland
family and has many friends in Port
land who will be interested in the wed
ding. They sailed from San Francisco
on the "Honolulan" for an extended
honeymoon in the Hawaiian -islands.
They will be at home after April 1 in
Portland. .
The marriage or Miss Miriam Clark
en and Daniel Francis Campbell of
Portland, Or., tooK place last evening
at St. Augustus church. Rev. B.. J. Mo-
Klnnon officiating.
"The bride was given away by her
uncle. Judge It. M. Clarken of Sacra
mento. She wore a gown of white sat
in with an overdress of lace and with
pearl embroidery. Her tulle veil was
arranged In a Juliet cap and she car
ried a shower bouquet of lilies of the
valley.
"Miss Alice Clarken attended her sis
ter as maid of honor. Like the brides
maids and the flower, girls, she was in
yellow, her gown being made of a char-
meuse draped in lace. Tne bridal
party Included Miss Edith Clarken and
Miss Helen Hopper ss bridesmaids, and
little Miss Alice and Miss Muriel Hop
per as flower girls. A. C. Campbell
was the best man and the ushers were

In the district school entertainment

costume 76 years old.
For the most part the costumes have
been faBhloned to appear grotesque
rather than qualnt, but those, of the
club's guests who are so fortunate to
have antique costumes will wear
them. There will be Ringing by an old
time quartet, a spelling match and
many other amusements of an extraor
dinary nature. The committee is Mrs.
George Hoyt, Mrs. A. E. Butterfleld,
;.Mrs. W. J. Hawkins, Mrs. W. D. Jelll
son and Mrs. W. B. Mersereau.

At a dinner given by Professor and
Mrs. Charles Orifflth Collals at the
Moana hotel. Honolulu, 11. I., Saturday
evening, February 14, covers wero laid
for 65 guests. Decorations were In
red hyblsous, curnations and hearts.
The place cards were In the form of a
document, with seal and signature of
Daniel Cupid, and read is follows:

E. L. Harmon will leave tomorrow on
the Shasta Limited for Callfornia to

years. Her beautiful voice was heard
in symphony concerts as soloist; also

ers' Choral society. Mr. Evans is
business man of Portland, Or.,
and is a buyer for Roberts Bros., of
hat. city. He has obtained recognl

was adjudicator several years at
Eisteddfods held in Wales and has also
won medals in musical competitions,
