Interesting to Sportsmen. Of more
than ordinary Interest is the November
Issue of the Oregon Sportsman, now in
the third month of publication. It Is
published under the direction of William
L. Finley, state game warden, and in
cluded in its columns are articles of
Interest to hunters and fishermen of the
state. There Is in addition to the spe
cial matter a department entitled "Notes
from Counties," in which Items of in
terest to sportsmen are printed from
different counties of the state.

imported hardwoods the Portland Mex
ican Hardwood company, capitalized at
$160,000, has been incorporated by David
M. Dunne. Frank C. Barnes and Holt C.
Wilson. Articles of incorporation were)
filed yesterday with County Clerk Cof
fey. Articles were also filed of the
B. & B. Lumber company, capitalized at
$40,000, by W. F., Teresa F., Edna and
W. C. Bouton.
Lecture at T. M. C. A. "Tlie Voica
From the Home," Is the subject of a
lecture to be delivered by Professor
Norman K. Coleman of Reed college in
the auditorium of the T. M. C. A. to
morrow at 12:30 o'clock. The lecture
is one of the series on "An Introduction
to the Earlier Prophets," in Reed exten
sion course 17.

sbn was yesterday appointed receiver of
the Bishop Printing company by Circuit
Judge Kavanaugh on petition of R. C.
Bishop. Bishop alleged ' that the firm
became deeply Involved In debt as the
result of a fire In the plant at 83 Firth
street last August. The assets are
placed at $14,282.1$ and the liabilities
at $7532.07. The receiver furnished
$7600. bonds.
Estate Goes to BelatlTsa. Leaving no
immediate family, John A. Sloan, who
died November 16. bequeathed his estate,
valued at $24,000, to his nephews and
nieces, John S. Klngsley, Edward E.
Klngsley, Harry J. Klngsley. Kate
Klngsley and Carra Klngsley. A peti
tion for the probate of the estate was
filed yesterday.

Foreign Iianguagss Taught. The
Portland . Toupg Men's Christian Asso
ciation is going to open three of its ed
ucational classes to women. The classes
to which women' are to be admitted are
for the study of modern languages.
French, Spanish and German are' the
studies to be opened to women.'. Each
class meets twice a week.- The French
class, in charge of Dr. V. B. de Lory,
