annual game barbecue of the Riddle
(Oregon) Elk Supporting Rod and Gun
club was held at Riddle, which Is 35
miles south of Roseburg, Friday. Sev
eral hundred visitors from nearby towns
were present, aa were State .Treasurer
T. B. Kay and State Game Warden
Finley. ; During the forenoon sports
were Indulged in and between the hours
of 1 and 2 0 clock the barbecue, con
sisting of six magnificent black tall
bucks roasted whole, salmon, rye bread,
coffee and fruits of the season, was en
Joyed. '
The annual bunt of the club was be
gun on October 1 and continued until
Friday. Captains were chosen for the
two contesting teams and every means
taken to insure fairness In this enjoy
able sport and unique contest Individ
ual members were given due credit
for all game killed, which Included bear.

various game birds. The winners were
