Interstate Commerce Commission would
not grant a reopening of the advance
rate cases, but would Inaugurate a new
hearing under the auNplces of Its own
experts.
In addition to the foregoing there waa
a disposition to regard the latest turn
in the developments In currency and
banking legislation as somewhat un
favorable In the sense that the appoint
ment by the president of six directors
of the proposed federal reserve board
would serve to Inject politics Into bank
ing to a degree that would tend to
aggravate financial operations. Heavy
selling took place In Union Pacific on
feara that the forthcoming decision ln
connection with the dissolution matter
will be unfavorable. Then, too, there
was heavy pressure In the industrial de
partment with very little support being
In evidence. As the week ends, senti
ment Hs again greatly depressed and un
less something assuring emanates from
Washington it seems likely that the
liquidation movement will extend fur

system aa a part of their reclamation

The company's plans are to hold the
flood waters of. the Sllvles river, the
chief source-, of supply of the Malheur

river. The applicant agrees to com
