a contract has been awnrrdad for 'the
' erection of a concrete seawall along the
reservation frontage a fllstaneo or boo
t feet. The space back of It will be filled
with the dredglngs of the river chan-
nels.

and of reinforced concrete with angle
walls leading back to the shore at either

INTTED STATES BUYS COAL
Seven Thousand Five Hundred Tons
Contracted for Celllo.
The contract for furnishing 7500 tons
of coal to the United States engineer
department at' Celllo has been awarded
to A. h. Stephens of the Pacific Coal
company,' according to information re
ceived this morning by Major J. J.
Morrow, corps of engineers, United
Slates, army. The contract is now be
ing prepared. Mr. Stephens' bid was
for $3.1 a., per ton at the mines. -
' Bids far furnishing coal for ths loco
motives, and hoisting engines at Fort
Stevens were opened . In the office of
Major J. F. Mclndoe, corps of engineers.
United States army, this forenoon. The
basis for canvassing the bids was 2000
