temporarily restrained from attempting
to forcibly collect delinquent taxes
from the Oregoh-Washlngtou Railway
& Navigation company, .'The order was.
issued following the filing of a petition
by ..the: attorneys ' for the railway.
In its complaint, the company alleges
that unless restrained by a court order
the sheriffs and treasurers of the var
ious counties will bo forced tinder the
statutes t& levy and foreclose upon the
railroad property for failure -to pay
taxes, and that the business of the com
pany as a common carrier and a carrier
of the United States malls will be in
terfered with. By distraining railroad
property, the county officials, will,- it
Is contended, make the corporation 11a-bm-to
