In order to take on a shipment of

o'clock last night. Her passengers are
being sent down to Astoria today and

here was today. The big salmon ship
ment is for. New York, and will be
trans-shipped at -San Francisco to one
of the Pacific Mall steamers. She will
have about - 150 passengers and 1800
ten of freight loaded here.

ney, Australia. She has been "ordered
to the quarantine station.
- The victim is a man named Robert
con, who shipped from Portland and
whose heme la In Spokane. The man
has been sick for the past two or three
days, but it was thought he was suffer
ing irora an attack of the meaaels,
- Captain Evans fame ashore, this morn
ing, but was ordered back to the ship.

poller Steamship company, started on
her transpaclfla voyage for the orient
With a cargo valued at 1217.800. The
cargo is made up of large shipments of
Wheat, flour and lumber and is destined
for Yokohama, Kobe and Hongkong. She
had 44,303 bushels of wheat, valued at
141,372; 38,137 barrels of flour, valued
nt f 133,423, and 1.454.000 feet of lum
ber, valued at 31.S00. ,
