Early in the week this newspaper started to ascertain how many families In Portland are blessed with seven sis ters. To aid In discovering their iden tity The Journal offered free ticket to the Baker theatre, during the run "Seven Sisters," that famous comedy which opens tonight for six nightly per formances and a couple of matinees. A count of the replies last night showed that 77 seven-sister-families are represented in the city. Allen, according to Secretary Stone, was liked because of his many acts of kindness toward the boys. In regard to the charges and Insinua tions made against the Y. M. C. A few, hqwever, have not put in an appearance and for this reason The Journal will Issue tick ets to them provided they call at The Journal editorial rooms between 2:80 add 4:30 Monday afternoon. After that time no tickets will be given out and excepting those who mailed their let ters on or before 6 o'clock Saturday testified by Judge W. K. Catena of the Juvenile court, and S. D. White, his chief pronation officer? "1 That there has been unearthed in Portland about 50 men who are under suspicion and some of them under ar rest in connection with grave offences. "2 That the boy's department of the Portland 1. M. C. A. furnished the first evidence and has steadily cooperated with the court in the investigation and prosecution. Offers to Aid Court. "Third That frum three to six asso ciate members of the 5S00 members of the association are under suspicion. The association management has . offered every assistance to the court to appre hend the guilty parties. "Fourth Probation .Officer White says: '1 want to say that no officer, director, employe or active member of the Toung Men's Christian association has even been mentioned as under sus picion.' Judge W. N. Gatens states: '1 can say, without qualification, that no officer, director or employe of the Y. M. C. Allen's Son Scouts Suicide. W. C. Allen, son of W. H. Allen, staled at midnight that pumpings from the stomach of the unconscious man do not prove conclusively that suicide was at tempted. ...The physicians hold out hope for recovery. The son states that the note left by Allen contained a denial of jfullt of the charge made, and pre fers to believe that his father is suf fering from collapse, superinduced by the exposure. The loss Is $5000 with Insurance of $2000. The fire started from a biasing steak which caught from the hot fire.
