as there is in the state. Everything will
be in readiness for the first county fair
this fall.
The association Is a new thing. - Tear

time. Last season some of th Myrtle
Point people and farmers of the vi
cinity decided to hold a livestock show.
Although there .was but little time in
which to make arrangements, such a
fine showing of stock was made and so
much interest was taken in the event
It was decided to organis a regular
county fair association and hold an an
nual show. As Myrtle Point Is cen-

The association bought 17 acres of
land at th edge of the- city. A half
mile rc track was built and was used
for the flrat Ume on the Fourth of July
when the fair grounds was dedicated.

horses. There 1 also a grand stand 81
feet long and 4 feet wide.
The association Is also building a
large pavilion which will cost $106

kinds of products.
