Robbers Evidently Mistake the

deputy sheriffs made a search of the
vicinity. Remains of a small fire were
found too small for warmth on a cold

deputies, used for thawing dynamite.
The red lanterns were sto.cn from the
section house. Evidently the would be
robbers mistook the Roseburg local for
the Shasta, and when they found their
mlstako, decided they had been seen,
and It would be too dangerous to at
tempt to stop the later train.
