the death sentence upon him. The date

Joe Saboode found Patrolman Nlles at
Fourth and Davis streets at an early
hour this morning and told him of the
encounter he had Just had with two
men. His eyes were swollen shut and
his face waa bleeding from several lacerations.-
Sabopde, who had been

jail until ha was able to tell his story.
