will be la debt at least $100,60? .within
the flrat year; that every hill will
have to ba paid out In warrants with
no prospect of such' warrantr'belne;

"purchased; that the. village of Drewaey,
which aspires to beconw a county seat

The resolutions adopted by the Vale
Chamber of Commerce, almost similar
to those adopted by the commercial
bodies of Ontario, Nyssa, Juntura, Beu
lah and Riverside, state:
"Whereas. AU the taxpayers of Mal
heur county residing In the district pro-
posed to be out off Into Otia county art
opposed to such action for the reason
that there la not sufficient taxable
property in said Otia county to main
tain a county goyernment;- therefore

' "Resolved, That we deplore the ao-
tion of the residents of Drtwsey, Ore
gon, in seeking to Initiate a bill for
the establishment of Otis county,- and
request that the electors of the state
vote against said measure,"
Aberdeen, Or.. Oct 11. Census
frauda in thla city are emphatically
denied, and a recount has been asked
by ;. the chamber of commerce. The
chamber also makes a formal protest to
Secretary .' Nagel against the charges,
and the city haa offered to pay the
expenses' of another enumeration. .
The following telegram, signed by 0
of the most prominent business men of
the city, was sent to Secretary Nagel:
, "Believing that there la no basis for
the statements, as reported in press
dispatches, that gross frauds have been
committed in the enumeration of Aber
deen's population, and believing that
such reports do this city a great In
justice, the Aberdeen' chamber of com
merce respectfully urges that you order
a recount of the population of thla city,
the expense of anon recount to be born
