that one car can pass another without
making a noise like a mlxup. -Well this
is how it happened. Big Benny Hunt
went out to vlBlt a friend from Cali
fornia. He was the only passenger on
the car. It being a fairly warm eve
ning the car windows were open. The
conductor Was a good natured chap and
didn't object at all when Bennle stuck
his feet out through the window on
the opposite side of the car. But
Bennle thinking of the terrible beatings
the team was being subjected to this
week at the hands of the Beavers dosed
off asleep. ,Now you know the length
of Hunt's legs. If he fell down he
would be half way back to Sacramento,
but he didn't fall. The trouble came
when the car arrived at the switch.
With Hunt's legs sticking 'out through
the Window, the car couldn't pass an.
other that was standing on the switch.
Efforts to awaken Hunt were fruitless.
Crowbars, bells, sticks and anything
that was handy to use waa put to work
but Hunt wouldn't budge, v The
wrecking outfit was sent for and finally
after an hour's soaking Hunt over the
dome with a pickax they woke him up.
