Berries are rapidly passing out- of, eason and In a few days the fruit mar ket will be oonflned to peaches, apples, pears, apricots and plums. Cherries, too, are on the down grade, although quits a few Lamberts should arrive before the elose of the season Is recorded. Front street was practically bare' of loganberries and raspberries this morn ing, and the small quantity on hand was not In the very best condition. The hot weather of the past three days has had a telling effect on. the fruit It Is said, too, that the scorching heat will have a serious effect on the blackberry crop. A big percentage of the berries, It Is feared, will be found to have been damaged by the burning, sun. .. , Market leaded With Peaoi.es. Commission houses -on Front street are well supplied with-Oregon peaches "and the- consequence Is low values. Values- were quoted all the way 'from ; 860 to 90o a box this morning. The peaches received so far are small and .this has much to do with the values. Apricots are plentiful, but they, too, are unusually sma)l this year. .. ; , , j '.-j':. ' Watsi Melons Soar, .-. .
