felt Justified In handing resignations to
the major part of bis office force. He
had expected to close the office finally

at Its last meeting, asking that the city
council order the salary of William A.
Reuter paid for the last seven days of
April and all of May, was filed in the
city auditors' office today. Mr. Reuter
has been chief draughtsman of the
sewer department In the city engineer's
office and has worked for the city IT
years. He has been incapacitated for
duty during the past flv weeks on ac
count of sickness. '

check for $25 was passed on Mrs. James
loudon, 1295 Corbett street, yesterday
afternoon. The man who gave her the
check gave the name of M. Morris and
aid he was employed at Linnton.
