It is--stated in -some- quarters that
growers are holding dbck ineir onions
In the hope of obtaining atill , higher
prices before the present season comes
to a' close but this statement is untrue
because so- far as known the reason
for the present short supply along
Front street Is the fact that' very few
cars of onions remain at-the . present
time in the hands of producers.
These are not making deliveries as
. fast as- the trade could wish but the
latter fact -Is due entirely to ; the , late
reason and that growers are busy put
ting in their new crop.
Onion prices are holding; very firm

While potato deliveries are smaller
at the present timethls Is due to the

let go of their, holdings at whatever
price dealers are willing . to give but
even at mat the movement Is limited, t

Dressed Veal Is Weak. i
Dressed veal market continues weak
and during the past 24 hours sales were
made at 89c a pound for good qual
ity. i While there were reports of a
slightly higher figure than this the
news could not be confirmed, all deal
ers saying that they .would be tickled
to sell at the extreme high mark listed
by: The Journal. . -,, -
; Dressed hoes gre' very slow' lu ar

keeps the price from dropping.
Some - dressed goats were received
this morning but found little favor be
cause of the overaupply of veal and
the lower prices, therefor. ,
Rogue River Salmon Coming. '
A small amount of fresh salmon Is
coming -to the local market from the
Rogue river but the bulk of supplies
are from the Sacramento. Prices are
unchanged at 1213o a pound. r
Crabs are very plentiful at this time,
huge supplies coming from Shoal water
Pay and Grays. Harbor.) Large sizes at
31.60 , dozen and mediums .at 31.
Both hardshell and razor clams are
plentiful with the former quoted at 4o
a pound and the latter at 8 a box. r
, Errs Are Rather Weak.
Egg market values were rather weak
along Front street teday and while bo
changes are noted In quotations, still
the oatward movement is smaller than
arrivals. Therefore supplies . are , c
cumulatlag in the Front street hoimes.
Prlcea range between 24 and 26c today
