There Are three s tmosnherlc disturb
ances noted In the western portion of
the United States; one Is central north
of the Dakotas, another is approaching
the Washington coast and the Ihlrd
overlies the aouthern portion of Cali
fornia and Arizona. The weather cast
of the Mississippi river Is controlled
by a large high pressure area central
over the middle Atlantic states. Light
rain ha fallen In the Pacific states ns
far south as San Diego and a Hinall
amount of precipitation has occurred
In the New England and the middl At
lantic states. Light rain is also re
ported along- the west gulf coaBt. The
temperatures are above normal in me
Mississippi valley and thence west to
the Pa iflo coast and they are very
much above normal In t lie Missouri
valley and tho north Pacific states. It
Is cooler than usual In the Atlantic
states and freezing temperatures pre
vail nearly as far south as Washington,
D. C.
The conditions are favorable for rain
